At Mocktree Barns Holiday Cottages we have been aware of environmental concerns for a very long time and have always tried to run our business in an environmentally friendly way. Here are some examples that may be of interest to help you to get the most from your holiday:
We have an electric vehicle charging point. This is conveniently placed for guests’ use and is available at no-cost for our visitors.
Why not find out about ‘Pay as you go’ car hire in Ludlow? Our link with Co-wheels Shropshire car club enables you to travel to Ludlow by train, but still have access to a car when you need it. Co-wheels have 2 cars in Ludlow parked just 2 minutes walk from the station. Ludlow is on the Manchester to Cardiff line with good connecting services to London as well as North-west England and the Midlands.
Simply join the car club as a visitor member and then book a car for as long as you need it – from an hour to a few days. It’s flexible, affordable and easy to use. We can also arrange cycle hire, a reliable local taxi service, drop off / pick up for walks and delivery of groceries.
We aim to reduce the amount of resources that we use, particularly energy and water, and to reuse things, either within the business or by handing them on.
We have installed 17 solar panels along the roofs of Kit & Weavers Cottages and are very happy to discuss the practical aspects of these with guests.
We recycle or compost much of our waste and ask our guests to help in this.
All our gardening is done organically and this lets wildlife flourish at Mocktree Barns. We are beekeepers and may have Mocktree honey available.
We have a variety of herbs around the courtyard – you are welcome to use them in your cooking.

Mocktree Holiday Cottages offer an organic box delivery service and we can also arrange for a generous breakfast basket of locally-sourced produce to be waiting for you in your cottage. Please ask for details when booking.
