The properties are set in an acre of grounds with panoramic views towards Ludlow, the Clee Hills and beyond. The Downton Estate surrounds Mocktree, with direct access for walking provided by a network of public footpaths. Visitors are welcome to use the courtyard garden and play area.
All of the cottages have a wealth of exposed beams and stone features. Our taller guests should take care in Jinney Ring, Stable and Kibble Mill but there is no shortage of head room in Kit or Weavers Cottages.
The pretty village of Leintwardine, located on the banks of the River Teme, is a mile away. In the village there is The Lion Inn with excellent restaurant and beer garden, the nationally renown parlour Sun Inn, an award winning fish and chip shop (which can be taken into the Inn), and a lovely traditional tea shop with excellent cakes! A post office, grocers, butcher/bakers, doctor’s surgery and the garage provide excellent local services.
We provide all bed linen, bathroom and kitchen towels. There is a selection of books and games, as well as tourist information and maps of the local area in each cottage. All cottages have a TV and are equipped with an electric cooker, microwave and full-sized fridge. Additionally Jinney Ring has a dishwasher and fridge-freezer. All cottages have a radio-clock alarm and hairdryer.
WiFi Internet access is available in all cottages.
Parking is close to the cottages and we can provide access to a landline phone if needed.
We provide a welcome tray with fair-trade tea, coffee and biscuits as well as a vase of fresh garden flowers to greet you.
We have some equipment for our young visitors including a baby’s cot, baby bath and high chair. Toys for indoor and outdoor play are available and babysitting can be arranged. For more information see our accessibility page here.
